Venture Further 1st place Business and Enterprise Competition

Dear All

I am delighted to share with everyone the great news in securing £5000 investment in my business called GO filters. We had to pitch the business idea in front of a panel of judges and got the prize at an evening awards ceremony in Manchester.

Venture further 1st place in the Graphene category

GO Filters is a graphene oxide-based membrane that can effectively extract lithium ions, which are used in modern-day batteries, from seawater. Current lithium extraction methods are time consuming and costly. GO Filters is a novel, cost-effective extraction membrane which can be easily installed into existing infrastructures.

GAP submit 2014 - Connect, grow and challenge

Hi Folks

The GAP submit 2014 in Cambridge has finally arrived. Today, I spent the evening meeting up with interesting people from a variety of scientific backgrounds and coming from all around the world. Some of the people I met today include a list of inspiring entrepreneurs - students setting up their own business in the biotechnology industry. I also people studying for a PhD, students in industry and students in the technology transfer offices. All have very interesting technical background. Tomorrow will be interesting as we hear from the current leaders in biotechnology.

I am looking forward to a challenging few days as we look to solve current issues and provide solutions to help the biotechnology industry grow.
